Low-Voltage Estimating Guide

Low-voltage estimating starts with understanding the systems, drawings and installation requirements. Keep quantities, material costs and labor assumptions visible for estimator review.

Define the system scope

Review the drawings and specifications for the systems in your scope, such as data, security, sound or fire alarm work. Confirm inclusions, exclusions and interfaces with other trades before pricing.

Review the takeoff

Organize devices, cable routes and associated installation materials by system and area. Check quantities against drawings and specifications, and resolve unclear requirements before finalizing the estimate.

Build the material and labor costs

Use supplier pricing for the specified equipment and review the labor needed for installation, testing and commissioning where included in the work. Account for project conditions and scope changes rather than relying on device counts alone.

Current Xkey AiE plans

The former AiE Low Voltage offering has been absorbed into the current Xkey AiE tiers: Starter, AiE Estimator and Project+. There is no separate Low Voltage plan or price presented here.

AiE supports electrical takeoffs, image matching, assemblies, labor and material pricing. Ask Xkey to validate your specific low-voltage drawings, systems and library requirements before selecting a plan.

Explore AiE electrical estimating and an optional demo. Compare Starter, AiE Estimator and Project+, then choose a plan and request access.

All paid plans are 12-month agreements. Monthly pricing is a payment schedule over the 12-month term. Starter, AiE Estimator and Project+ include the 7-Day Satisfaction Guarantee; review the published requirements.
